Finally, something on which the pig-tailed 16-year-old Swedish climate activist and I can agree. I too believe passionately that if the world’s governments are going to spend upwards of $1.5 trillion of our money a year on ‘combating climate change’ then at least they ought to have some credible evidence that this expenditure is necessary.

Perhaps, I thought, some of this credible evidence might be presented at today’s Climate Crisis Hearing, subtitled ‘Voices Leading the Next Generation on the Global Climate Crisis.’

Veruca and the other kids are not there - at the UN or Congress - for their knowledge. They are rhetorical human shields against their puppet-masters' claims and arguments getting the shredding those factoids and arguments deserve.

I was listening to NPR yesterday and they had a poor brainwashed HS activist on who is part of the skip school on friday nut job group.  She was asked if she worries about failing her classes because she recieves a Zero for unexcused absences.  She said no.  Because the earth will be dead in 10 years for her.   WTF?  There was more pearl clutching and then she went on and blamed every adult for what is happening to her generation.

My reaction to help her out was this..... I deleted NPR  from my pre sets.

The problem is 10 years is going to pass. Many of these kids will be older, and they’ll realize that the earth is still here and didn’t die.

While flying from Frankfort Ger, to Lost Angeles Dec. 23-24 of 1970, I read "Population Bomb," by Paul  Erlich.

That best selling alarmist book, predicted a coming ice age and massive starvation.

It has proved to be entirely wrong.

Nevertheless, far too many parents subject their gullible children to mass indoctrination, by weather-alarmists, with their "settled science" narrative.

More parents need to take more interest, in education.

An Enviro-fraud classic. More recently the enviros predicted:

* The Arctic ice cap would be gone by 2014 or 2015 or 2016 (depending on the source); the ice cap obstinately persisted;

* Polar bears were going extinct; the contrarian bears have been increasing in number rather than decreasing;

* The Maldive Islands would be under water within 30 years; that 30 year time period ended last year; the Maldive Islands are as much there as they were in 1988.

I had some fun on FB last weekend with several Warmistas. I'm seriously not all that smart, but got called a "Science Denier" after several days of pointing out things like the frauds above, and history such as when thermometers and anemometers were invented, the 18th Century sinking of a Spanish galleon by a hurricane, how recently world-wide temperature monitoring networks came to be. I also learned - but didn't have reason to post - that temperature records for San Jose, California's third largest city, only go back a bit over a century.

I have lived near "sea level" for 45+ years. We have several coastal wetlands, estuaries, rivers, etc.

From Long Beach to Newport Beach. I have paid attention, including years working with petroleum engineers, geologist, taking classes, watching the local ecology debates.

If my local safety was in jeopardy I would have fears, but instead, silence.

They have reintroduced tidal flushing into rstored wetlands, which I supported/support.

The unintended consequence is a lot of coyotes, and other critters, pushed out of their habitats, into mine.

Back in 2006 AlGore bought a condo in SF, https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2006/08/al_gore_buys_san_francisco_con.html . The link to the source Matier & Ross column no longer works, and Matier & Ross columns are now behind the SF Comical's paywall. I don't know if AlGore still owns the place. But it shows how seriously he took his Warmista shtick.

Where I live in San Jose is probably around 200 feet above sea level. So I would not expect my home to be beachfront property any century soon. However, a good number of cities in the South and East SF Bay (not South LA Bay) are right on the water or have parks right on the water. There hasn't been any loss of land there or recent efforts to wall off the bay from those cities and parks in the 3 decades or so since the Enviros switched from the coming new Ice Age to Global Worming.
