For as much crap as McConnell takes from some conservatives for not being tough enough, he has been outstanding on judges.  He not only pushed through the nuclear option, but he also killed off the blue-slipping of judges that kept the 9th Circuit so out of step with the rest of the country.  No GOP majority leader had ever done either of those things before.

McConnell's strategy as Majority Leader is very clear.  He will never put other GOP Senators in a politically vulnerable position for a losing vote, just to "send a message".  That really pisses off some hard-line conservatives who want RINO's to be hung out to dry publicly.

But he will push incredibly hard on even controversial votes if he thinks he can win.  The repeal/replacement of Obamacare was one of those votes where McCain stabbed him in the back, and it really ticked off McConnell because he'd pushed other GOP Senators hard.

Democrats absolutely hate him, and I think his performance as Majority Leader is very underappreciated.

I also think McConnell takes a lot of unjustified crap @Maj. Bill Martin  And he has been and continues to be outstanding on getting judges to the bench.

Even as minority leader when dems had the big House majority, McConnell did a decent job of thwarting some of 0bama's plans and running out the clock up to the 2010 House take-back. 0bama didn't get the stimulus package he wanted, cap-and-trade, immigration reform. 0bamacare got watered down considerably, but was still deprived of the single repub vote that would have given it any semblance of bi-partisan legitimacy (exploding the "great uniter" myth in the process). I think he recognized 0bama's shortcomings early on and made the most of them. We could have done a lot worse.

Wow! Six of the fourteen nominees are for the Ninth Circuit! If Trump keeps this up, conservatives might lose their whipping boy judicial circuit! :silly: Not that I'd mind the loss. Hopefully DiFei and/or Kammy will birth some hissing yowling devil-kittens over this, for our :2popcorn: .
If, as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, https://www.poynter.org/fact-checking/2021/robert-f-kennedy-jr-said-the-covid-19-vaccine-is-the-deadliest-vaccine-ever-made-thats-not-true/ , https://gospelnewsnetwork.org/2021/11/23/covid-shots-are-the-deadliest-vaccines-in-medical-history/ , The Vaccine is deadly, where in the US have Pfizer and Moderna hidden the millions of bodies of those who died of "vaccine injury"? Is reality a Big Pharma Shill?

Millions now living should have died. Anti-Covid-Vaxxer ghouls hardest hit.
