House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that if President Trump can declare a national emergency to construct his border wall, a Democratic president can use the same powers to take all sorts of steps the GOP won’t like.

She specifically suggested guns as an area where a Democratic president might try an end-run around Congress.

“Because if the president can declare an emergency on something that he has created as an emergency, an illusion that he wants to convey, just think of what a president with different values can present to the American people,” she said.

She continued: “You want to talk about a national emergency, let’s talk about today, the one-year anniversary of another manifestation of the epidemic of gun violence in America. That’s a national emergency”

Well, Nancy, I would like you or someone like you to just try.

Comparing a national emergency due to an invasion from foreigners and stripping Constitutional protections from citizens is a who different ball of wax.

Her and the Dems throwing out threat about declaring emergencies over things like climate, healthcare, and guns is orders of magnitude different than condemning a little land for a border fence. We're talking nationalization, confiscation. and dictatorial, authortarian, banana republic type rule.

It was a monumentallly stupid thing to say, because the Dems outrageous analogies really just telegraphed their intentions.

There is a salient difference. Declaring a national emergency to fulfill one of the Constitutional duties of the Federal Government (To protect the States from Invasion) because Congress won't fulfill its Constitutional duty to appropriate funds to fulfill that duty is one thing.

Using a State of Emergency to defy the Constitution and in conspiracy with others to deprive Americans of a Constitutionally enumerated Civil Right, is not only NOT Constitutional, it is a violation of 18 U.S. Code § 241, a Felony---and there is no way the Dems haven't conspired to do just this.
