While in the military we had a big hulking sergeant with the typical steroid build. Huge arms and upper body which made his legs look thin, even though his legs were normal, if he was normal. He worked out everyday, every free minute he got. Some of the guys were teasing me about being more like him. I told them at the time, that guy will not make it to 60 years old. Steroid abuse guys normally die in their 50s, but they look great. They are also impotent and generally angry people. It is so common that it has become a cliche. I don't need any 'study' to tell me what I have seen in real life.
Some people do it, but that stuff is not for me. The short term benefit is not worth the long term cost.
