New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has come under fire for declaring that America "was never that great," but perhaps he was just echoing the views of his fellow New Yorkers.

Most of the young people I spoke with in New York City unabashedly sided with Cuomo, and several maligned American Exceptionalism in far stronger terms than Cuomo dared to use.
