Whey Powder, Likely Source of Salmonella, Recalled
By Cameren Rogers

UPDATE: July 26, 2018 – Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI), has recalled dry whey powder, a common ingredient in many consumer products, over fears it may be contaminated by salmonella.

According to an FDA announcement, AMPI’s 50-pound and 25-kg bags may be contaminated, but the company says that all of the products shipped to the marketplace tested negative for the bacteria.

This recall follows the recalls of Swiss Roll pastries, Captain John Derst’s Old Fashioned Bread, Hungry Man Chipotle BBQ Sauce Chicken Wings, certain Ritz crackers, and a variety of Goldfish crackers. All of the affected food companies have cited whey powder as the source of the possible contamination.
