  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain, in an excerpt from his new book “The Restless Wave,” spoke candidly about his cancer battle, the state of American politics, and the fact that he won’t seek another term in office....

...A number of questions have been raised in recent weeks as to whether McCain, who has been at home in Arizona for several months recovering from the side effects of his cancer treatments, would even finish out the current term — but so far he has given no indication that he plans to resign.

“This is my last term,” McCain writes. “If I hadn’t admitted that to myself before this summer, a stage 4 cancer diagnosis acts as ungentle persuasion.”

What a self important bastard. Hey Crazy Johnny. How about doing the classy thing and making this announcement to your constituents first instead of using it as fodder to pimp your worthless ghost written book.

Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!! OK, we understand and your health is more important.
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Get a grip Frank.  Sarcasm.  I do pray for healing for him though.  He is doing the right thing and we are grateful.

Doing the right thing with stage 4 cancer would be resigning and letting the countries governing body to continue to function as intended, with 50 functional Senators, not hijacking it for his own self aggrandizement.

I fully agree.  And that is not sarcasm.  It is the right thing for the country.  Never liked him or his politics.

The famous story from AA may apply. It is about the guy who gets to the 'making amends' phase of the program. He goes back to where he used to work and walks around from person to person that he had wronged somehow explaining how sorry he is and that he has changed. His coworkers were very impressed and receptive so they decide to throw a little lunch room celebration for him. Someone brought a cake and things were going great. The guy noticed that his former supervisor was not there so he decided to go see him and apologize to him personally.

He goes to his office and finds him there. The guy goes through a humble and sincere lengthy apology listing all the ways he had harmed his old boss and how sorry he was for each one.

The boss listened silently to the man's plea without saying a word. Eventually he spoke and he said,
"You were an A-hole then..., and you are an A-hole now. I think you are full of shit, ...and I do not like you. Now get the hell out my office!"

I would have a similar response to McCain, if he ever asked me to forgive him.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists.

The only one McCain should be asking for forgiveness is those he's wronged in his family and above all asking GOD for forgiveness.  He knows the end is near and if he doesn't have is 'House' in order now, he never will.

Meanwhile....when are they going to call for a special election to fill his slot ... or will they wait now till he actually passes?  He's announced he's not seeking re-election why doesn't he just out and out resign?
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Savor the moment @Chosen Daughter, it won't last long, being the bipolar opposite of him politically.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.
