National Review 4/17/2018 by Jack Crowe

Student gun-control activist David Hogg called for a boycott of two asset-management companies that invest in gun manufacturers in a series of Tuesday tweets.

Hogg, who recently sparked an advertiser boycott of Fox News personality Laura Ingraham’s show, asked his 764,000 Twitter followers to boycott BlackRock and Vanguard and voice their opposition to the asset managers’ investment in firearm manufacturers.

The high-school senior followed up his initial tweet by expanding the boycott call to a list of asset-management companies that presumably invest in gun manufacturers.

BlackRock, the world’s largest asset-management company, announced the creation of new investment products that specifically exclude stocks associated with gun retailers and manufacturers earlier this month. The decision, which Hogg failed to note in his boycott message, was made in response to mounting public pressure on corporations to distance themselves from the gun industry in the wake of the Parkland shooting.

More than a dozen advertisers pulled their commercials from the Ingraham Angle last month after Hogg called for a boycott of the program because Ingraham publicly mocked him. Fox News did not lose revenue as a result of the advertiser boycott as the companies moved their ads to other programs rather than removing them from the channel altogether.

Okay, this confirms my suspicions.

Hogg is just the willing mouthpiece of the nefarious politicos NGOs who are using him to wage a public relations guerrilla war against guns the same way they did Tobacco companies.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

I don't know whether he's a tool of such powerful organizations, although it is not at all unreasonable to assert such a proposition.

More clearly, he is either too uneducated or stupid to comprehend that were it not for American gun manufacturers, he'd today be making his specious arguments in the German language.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

Boy needs a wedgie.

A swirlie, and Nuggie, a purple nurple, and a good old fashioned locker stuffing with a used kotex hanging on the cloths bar..

He's still called a high school student, but with all his tweeting and boycotting, when does he have time to attend class or do homework?

Vanguard manages my retirement and they do a good job of it.  Piggy boy can kiss my fat fanny.  I'm not pulling out of Vanguard.

I'll be so glad when this brainless zero and his tiny little fists no longer garner the attention of the news media or anyone else.

The National Geographic channel had a multi-part documentary on last night about Hitler Youth. I kept looking for little Mr. Hogg. I know he's in here somewhere ...

David Hogg, a 17-year-old high school senior and survivor of the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, is now an outspoken gun law activist. He took to Twitter on Tuesday to encourage a boycott of BlackRock (BLK) and The Vanguard Group.

— David Hogg (@davidhogg111) April 17, 2018

BlackRock, Invesco (IVZ) and Vanguard are the top three institutional holders of American Outdoor Brands (AOBC), the parent company of Smith & Wesson Corp., one of the world’s largest gun manufacturers. BlackRock and Vanguard are also the largest holders of gunmaker Sturm Ruger (RGR).

Many of these funds are passively managed, which means companies like American Outdoor Brands and Sturm Ruger are in their portfolios because they are part of major stock market indexes.

Earlier this month, BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, announced that it would offer two new exchange-traded funds and new index-tracking products for pensions and 401(k) plans that exclude stocks of gunmakers and large gun retailers. This was in response to the mounting pressure from customers urging Wall Street to take a stand on the gun debate.

The new funds will not invest in American Outdoor Brands, Sturm Ruger, Walmart (WMT), Dick’s Sporting Goods (DKS), Kroger (KR), and Vista Outdoor (VSTO), a BlackRock spokesperson told CNBC.

Vanguard offers the FTSE Social Index Fund, which screen companies based on social and environmental criteria, excluding gun manufacturers.

But, Hogg is not satisfied with these auxiliary options and is encouraging his 764,000 followers to boycott holding groups like Vanguard and BlackRock.

In a statement to Yahoo Finance, a Vanguard spokesperson said the firm “shares many individuals’ concerns about public safety and firearm access and hopes that policymakers take appropriate action to protect Americans from gun violence. ”

If neither BlackRock or Vanguard offer a package that capitalizes on the huge growth of gun sales over the last few months then I agree with Hogg.  They're losers.

In other non socially conscious funds, they do. That is why Hogg is up in arms against them. He wants ALL FUNDS out of gun manufacturers.

I'm angry that both have capitulated to the anti-gun hysteria and set up anti-gun funds.  I'm kind of happy Hogg is wasting his political capital on this venture.  Hogg thinks the louder and bolder he talks the more attention and influence he creates.  I think the hysteria has a time limit unless another kook commits another mass killing.

My first reaction was ----Twitter followers with portfolios in Vanguard?

There actually are people who have their IRA's in Vanguard and Invesco who FOLLOW this teenie twerp on Twitter?

Who in their right mind who works and has a 401K in these giant funds wastes his computer time following this boy?

Hillary Clinton invests in just one mutual fund

"Both sides might be disappointed with the results, but Hillary Clinton’s 20-page financial disclosure document was easy to go through, especially when it came to looking at her mutual funds.

She has just one.

It’s the Vanguard 500 Index Fund VFINX, +1.07% in which she has from $5 million to $25 million."

What the 'Boy' needs is a size 18 Booyott right up his rectum, since he is obviously suffering from Cranialrectumitis it will both boot his head out of his a** and kickstart his brain at the same time. But hey even if it doesn't, it'll be fun to watch!
