The 1,100 point drop we just experienced was the single largest one day drop in the history of Wall Street.  The market fell 7.7% and lost $2 trillion in paper value.  In '87 the market only dropped a little over 500 points.

That's not as small or as inconsequential as you want to make it.

'87 was a bigger percentage drop yes...but again we're talking about 31 years difference in the markets...the population of the country and a whole lot of other financial factors you want to leave out of the discussion to try and make what just happened look like a blip on the radar because you'll do anything to defend Donny.

That is the only thing that matters. At least to folks that understand markets, economies etc.

FYI in the 1929 the market was in the 200-300 range. The market lost over 30% in one day.

In 1987 the market was above 2,700. The market lost 23% in one day.

In 2018 the market was above 27,000. The losses do not come close to record levels, but rather fall within normal market correction ranges. IOW around 10%

The 2018 correction was overdue, and was expected.

OK, I'm not a big fan of DJT, but where does this "racial prejudices" thing come from?  I just don't see it.  And, no, he's not beyond the pale of decent society.  I imagine he's pretty much the norm for much of society.

I don't have anything against Franklin Graham except that he was just another evangelical with a for sale sign and Trump was buying.

It seems to me that the two party system is manipulated if not tailored exactly to what they want to shove down the American people's throats.  It took so little to shove Trump onto the American people.  I believe that most people who keep up on politics knew exactly who Trump was.  But on the campaign trail he was what working class Americans needed, but are not going to get.  Some of us realized it.
