GOP senators introduce Trump immigration framework
By Jordain Carney - 02/12/18 06:03 PM EST
A group of GOP senators are pushing forward with President Trump's immigration proposal as the Senate turns to a days-long floor fight.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) on Monday led other senators in formally introducing the plan, which aligns with the White House's framework.
"The senators sponsoring this amendment have attempted to develop a simple, common sense framework that can address everyone's concerns while also providing necessary and critical changes to our nation's immigration law," Grassley said from the Senate floor.

So to go along with the spending spree and ballooning trillion-dollar deficits, the Senate will try to make Amnesty less bitter medicine for their plantations slaves to swallow.

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly. - Benjamin Franklin
...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

Senate GOP, Dem Leaders Say It's Time For Immigration Deal
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate's two top leaders put on a show of comradery Monday as their chamber launched its immigration debate, but also laid down markers underscoring how hard it will be to reach a deal that can move through Congress.

"The only enemy here is overreach," Schumer said. "Now is not the time nor the place to reform the entire legal immigration system. Rather, this is the time for a narrow bill" — which Democrats have said would help the Dreamers and provide some money for border security.

That 'narrow bill' and camaraderie talk should grab your attention - and not in a good way.
