Generations of Philly families are incarcerated together
By Samantha Melamed / Staff Writer
READERS NOTE: For decades, Philadelphia has grappled with the seemingly intractable scourge of violent crime in its poorest communities, but proposed solutions often have overlooked the root causes. In this story about the epidemic of families in prison together, Samantha Melamed highlights a striking pattern in violent crime — the way it is repeated through generations. That means telling the stories of men who have been responsible for vicious, often unforgivable acts. This article does not attempt to excuse them or to gloss over the pain of those whose lives were forever altered by their crimes. The aim, rather, is to illuminate a public-safety crisis — a cycle of innocent children growing up to be violent criminals.

Is this "social justice," or what.  Philadelphia is so thoughtful to keep families together.  Why aren't democrats using this to show how well run democrat cities operate? :tongue2:

And the profiles of these families?

Jewish? Mormon? Evangelical?

White? Black? Hispanic?

This reply "does not attempt to gloss over" the reality of the solution nor the fact that some will call it "racis'":
These youths should never have been born.
The solution is more abortions for single pregnant welfare females, and substantial cash payments to young feral females to entice them to be voluntarily sterilized.
Prevent future births.
Stop young criminals before they "get started".

I'm not for abortion, but I do like the idea of voluntary sterilization for welfare mothers. One child on welfare is enough. If they don't want to work, we should not have to subsidize an endless procession of welfare-born children many who grow up feral.
