House Republicans reject Mitch McConnell's plan to 'move on' from Obamacare repeal
by Robert King | Dec 26, 2017, 12:01 AM

Top House Republicans aren't giving up on Obamacare repeal next year, even though Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he's ready to move on.

McConnell told NPR on Thursday that he thinks the Senate will “move on to other issues” instead of trying for repeal and replace in 2018. But several top conservatives in the House made it clear they wouldn't mind taking another shot.

“I still think there is enough bandwidth on the House side to get it done,” said Rep. Mark Walker, R-N.C., leader of the 170-member conservative Republican Study Committee.

The House was able to pass its own Obamacare repeal and replace bill in May, but the Senate couldn’t pass its own version in late July.

God Bless them.

At least someone in the legislature is trying to fulfill their promises. Obamacare mandate tax is gone for awhile, but the underlying law is still on the books. It remains my number one issue followed by immigration. If the Pubs won't follow through on their promise to repeal Obamacare I see no reason to support them in the future.

Frustrating but you have at least a chance with Republicans.  None with democrats.

I believed that for a long time. Now the Pubs have the Presidency, Congress & SCOTUS. If they don't perform now they will make it clear they never will. I'm not going to continue supporting liars and cheats.

Tax reform was a good thing but it was number 4 on my list. Repeal Obamacare, immigration reform and border enforcement, conservative judges and then tax reform are my list of priorities.

3 reasons McConnell’s plan to ‘move on’ from Obamacare repeal is a huge mistake

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has a plan. He hasn’t made the plan public, but behind closed doors he’s let other Republican lawmakers know his intentions. To the discerning public ear, his plans are coming through crystal clear. He intends to play it safe in 2018 and avoid issues that may contribute to the GOP losing control of the Senate.

Last week on NPR, McConnell laid out a populist approach to the upcoming legislative year. He heralded bipartisanship while pushing away from important controversial issues such as Medicaid, food stamps, and most importantly another attempt to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Hey, we've all got lists.  Your list sounds exactly like what Trump and conservative Senators want to accomplish.

If you're abandoning them, exactly who in the democrat party do you think would be interested in that list ... at all.

If he really cares about anything but himself, he would reverse his position on all his stated objectives.

We just hate all that.

Perhaps McConnell is realizing he needs to get back in line and that he's not as irreplaceable as he once thought.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

I don't expect anything from the Rats.

My expectations are of the Pubs fulfilling their promises. If they don't and I continue to support them then they have no incentive to ever fulfill their promises. Look at what the Rats have done to their most loyal group, the Blacks. Over 90% of Blacks vote for the Rats and what has that done for them, nothing! I have no intention as a white male conservative born again Christian to be ignored by the Pub party without consequence.

I don't know why Mitch is still pretending to be a Republican.

Tie it to the congressional spending bill like they do for executive branch funding.
