Huckabee compares Trump to Churchill
By Jacqueline Thomsen - 12/26/17 04:43 PM EST

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) in a tweet Tuesday compared President Trump to British leader Winston Churchill.

Huckabee said he had just been to see the film “The Darkest Hour,” which dramatizes Churchill's experiences as prime minister during World War II, calling it a reminder of “what real leadership looks like.”

“Churchill was hated by his own party, opposition party, and press.  Feared by King as reckless, and despised for his bluntness,” Huckabee tweeted. “But unlike Neville Chamberlain, he didn't retreat. We had a Chamberlain for 8 yrs; in @realDonaldTrump we have a Churchill.”

It's been done before, Mikey.  Nothing original here.

Trump's worshippers have compared him to Jesus, King David, and a bazillion others, that make sane people laugh (or throw up a little in their mouths).

I think it's an attempt to make who he truly is go away........
Character still matters.  It always matters.

The funny thing is that the same people use the qualifier that "God uses imperfect people" indicating that they know he's garbage.

OK I've like alot of what Trump has done so far, but the Churchill comparisons are a stretch.

Why not? I’ve heard Trump compared to Hitler, Mussolini, Pol Pot, Idi Amin, Lucifer, Barack Obama, Mao Zedong, Charles Manson, Joesef Stalin and Karl Marx.

True enough.

The term "imperfect" is clearly very broad by their definition.....

You're embarrassing us, Mike.

Churchill is Churchill, Hitler is Hitler.

Trump is, well, Trump.

@aligncare

So you're a joke unless you think Trump can reasonably be compared to Churchill.

Take a moment.  Think about that.  Better yet, go read a book about Churchill and come back when you're done blushing.

I don't think Churchill would have praised the Chinese slaughter of some 10,000 civilians in Tianamen Square.

â€œWhen the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak … as being spit on by the rest of the world –”

Huckabee's comparison is clear, finite and logical.

Will anyone here deny that the President is hated by many, many conservatives and Republicans and all of the Democrat party; and that the main stream and conservative media marinate in that same hate ---  or that the President is feared by the globalists and called "reckless" on a good day?  And even on this forum the President is ridiculed and despised for too blunt and "unpresidential" communications.  Well, so too was Churchill.

Let's hear from those who think the President isn't a fighter.  The President doesn't cower or retreat. He is willing to stand tall and alone among national and world "leaders" to do what he believes is right.  So, too, did Churchill.

The angst and shock reactions here feel a little kneejerk -- with precious little to do with the actual comparison made by Huckabee.  Or it could be the comparison is hitting a little too close to home for some to admit.   888blackhat

There are some parallels that are not out of the question. Obama tried to appease our enemies Castro in Cuba, Palestinian Abbas and the mullahs in Iran.

I suppose Trump could be considered Churchillian compared to Obama’s Chamberlain-like behavior.
