Kasich: GOP in Danger of 'Losing the Future,' Millennials
By Cathy Burke    |

The Republican Party is in danger of “losing the future” by turning off millennials, Gov. John Kasich said Sunday.

In an interview on NBC News’ “Meet The Press,” the Ohio Republican said the special Senate election of Democrat Doug Moore in Alabama showed “some very interesting things.”

“We’re beginning to see more of a tug-of-war pulling people towards a better position on the [Republican] Party,” he said referring to GOP voters who voted for someone other than GOP nominee Roy Moore, and Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala., “who spoke out and said he was not for the candidate down there.”

Kasich:   :silly: :silly: :silly:
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

John K. and GHW Bush (1992) and Bob Dole (1996) and John McCain (2008) and Mitt Romney (2012) represented the GOP's better self.

Thanks for the morality lecture, John. Do you see a pattern?

Considering no Millennial voted for Silly John, isn't he part of the problem and shouldn't he resign immediately and jump off a bridge?

Kasich spends a lot of time in the Short North area of Columbus.  It's the hot spot for milennials, wannabe art types, and alternative lifestylers.  I'm pretty sure John's a closet case.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

I don't agree with some of his solutions, but he is right about the problem.

Mr. K is a big hero to the "Love to Lose a Lot" brigade, here and over at Billy Kristol's place.

One of their heroes, John Anderson, just died a few days ago.

The Millennials will quit being socialists when they have to start paying taxes. My daughter was shocked at how much she had to pay.

Anybody can be "right" about a problem.   It don't mean squat if their "solution" sucks.

Most conservatives are in denial about the problem.  They claim the Millennials will automatically change when they get older.  But the ones in their 30s are voting the same way they did in college.

Millennials are given over to this belief:

They are not going to change or 'grow out of it'.

We made that mistake thinking the 60's Leftists would grow up and out of it.

Of course Statists like Kasich would insist that we have to get on board that Socialist train or risk losing the Socialist vote.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775
