"One of the great memories of all time."  Donald J Trump, 2 weeks ago.

“I don’t remember much about that meeting, it was an unimportant meeting. Took place a long time — don’t remember much about it.”  Donald J Trump, today.

  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
I just love these liberal lawyer gotcha articles. They're like a bunch of old hags screaming SLUT! SLUT! SLUT! at some beautiful young thing that has two buttons undone on her blouse instead of one.

She may have just come from a soup line feeding the homeless all day, but hey let's focus in nit-picky, insignificant church harpy crap to destroy her.

“Liberal lawyer gotcha”?  Really?  My experience is that when one insists on repeatedly making statements of hyperbole, those statements often come back to be refuted.  It’s not like Trump said he had a good memory, he stated that he had “one of the great memories of all time”.  Some folks have photographic memories, but Trump claims to have one of the great ones “of all time” yet he doesn’t remember this particular meeting from just last year.  Hmmm.  If you can't stand by your statement, I suggest you don't make it in the first place.

I just don't care about the back and forth word games. That stuff is for lawyers, the media, the Dems, and the Clintons.

What I know is the Prez uses Twitter and such to keep the media in a tizzy while he guts Obamacare, regulations, and maybe even get a moderately acceptable tax package passed. It's damn good strategy intentional or not.

I do not care about words, I care about results.

To quote austingirl:  “Principles matter.  Words matter.”  Hopefully our President will eventually learn this.  Unfortunately, I’m not too optimistic.  You (and probably most of the 30%-35% who represent his base) may not care about words, but I don’t think his hyperbole is increasing the 46.1% of the electorate who voted for him last year.  His current approval ratings seems to support this.

But what's the end game? We're not in the primaries anymore, Trump's the Prez. He's in the position to change policy in a very huge way.

Do I focus on that, or some little contradiction in what he said that I shout from the mountaintops on a daily basis? Because understand whether it's Trump, Romney, McCain. Dole, or Bush, the media is going to play the back-and-forth word game like a bunch of bitchy, catty, mean-girl cheerleaders every minute of every day.

It's a liberal tactic. Play the grammer nazi, keep every thing in an uproar and hulaluboo over verbage so that nothing gets done till a Dem gets back in the WH. Trump has flipped that on it's head by giving the media sharks meat to tizzy over while things get done.

I'm fine with that. I don't always like it, but sometimes ugly works.

Then he should stick to what he can do.  The ‘one of the great memories’ claim was last week, during the Sgt Johnson widow phone call controversy.
I disagree.  Circle gets the square.

Maybe, but what we got is what we got. We can get all in a twitter about his tweets like dilettantes at the ball, or keep our focus on getting results.

I don’t know what the “end game” is for Trump.  I don’t think he has one.  I think it was simply convenient for him to claim a couple of weeks ago that he had “one of the great memories of all time” and now, simply convenient for him to claim he doesn’t remember something.  Sadly, I don’t think he’s intellectually capable of or able to focus long enough to even understand the inconsistency of these statements.  I value honesty and consistency; however, I understand not everyone cares about stuff like that.

And maybe, just maybe, reducing himself to a laughing stock gets in the way of getting results?

I’m pretty sure you’re reminding the wrong person to stay focused and get results.

He's gutted Obamacare and rolled back alot of regulations. If the tax plan doesn't get chopped to crap it will be somewhat of an improvement.

I'll take that way over the do nothing 'bipahatizunship' atmosphere of civility, glad handing, and back slapping of the Senate good old boys butt buddies club, or any more of the compromising, well mannered, well spoken and moderate pseudo-statesmen like Jeb Bush or John Kasich.
