Itsy bitsy spider: Fear of spiders and snakes is deeply embedded in us

Summary:
Snakes and spiders evoke fear and disgust in many people, even in developed countries where hardly anybody comes into contact with them. Until now, there has been debate about whether this aversion is innate or learnt. Scientists have recently discovered that it is hereditary: Even babies feel stressed when seeing these creatures - long before they could have learnt this reaction.

I never kill spiders in my home. They are my unpaid and environmentally safe pest control technicians.

I don't use spray pesticides indoors and never will. There is no way breathing that chit could be healthy. I do use those ant traps and sticky paper and they both work very well. My spider friends take care of the rest. My home is always relatively free of insect pests.

As far as snakes, i never kill a snake in the wild. They eat varmints such as mice, rats, other rodents, and raid the nest for eggs of varmint birds. Leave a snake alone, they'll leave you alone.

That's my two cents.  ^-^

Spiders are especially good for bedbugs. These days it's not hard to bring home bedbugs either in luggage from a vacation or even thru clothing or furniture bought at a store. Even visiting someone else's house, if they have them, you could bring them home with ya.

The key is to kill them asap when they are in the house, before they get a chance to multiply. But how do ya do it? Because sprays and such generally do not work with bedbugs. Well it's simple. Bedbugs are a tasty treat to spiders, and the spiders can roam in those nooks and crannies to get them.

If family members would realize that spiders have no interest in humans and wish to stay away from us...while many other insects wish to feed off our food, spread disease, and with bedbugs suck our blood, well maybe they might change their mind about spiders who can eliminate or keep these insect pests under control in our homes without the use of dangerous insecticide sprays and fumes.  ^-^
