Is Trump still the same guy who won in November?
by W. James Antle III | Oct 9, 2017, 12:01 AM

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich likes to say that there are two Donald Trumps. "I've said this publicly, there's a big Trump and a little Trump," Gingrich said on ABC's "This Week" before last year's election. "The big Trump is a historic figure. The big Trump beat 16 other people for the nomination."

Almost a year after Trump also beat his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton to become president of the United States, some of his most ardent supporters worry that there are indeed two Trumps: the one they fell in love with during the 2016 campaign and the one sitting in the Oval Office.

No one illustrates that more clearly than Ann Coulter, a syndicated conservative columnist and author. While most established conservative journalists supported other candidates during the Republican primaries, and many remained "Never Trump" even in the general election, Coulter eagerly climbed aboard the Trump Train.

Trump has been slightly more Conservative than the guy who won in November.

He has been a quick learner when it comes to foreign policy.  And fortunately, his touchback amnesty program has been put on hold.  He also recently has come out against certain mandates of Obamacare, reversing his position from the campaign.

Other than that, he is just what I expected - a man totally detached from the workings of our government for the last 40 years who is now learning on the job.  Not much different from Obama there.  But unlike his predecessor, he is willing to work hard to fix it.

The two biggest areas that need to be addressed immediately are the budget and federal judiciary vacancies.  Not seeing any movement on either.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

He's still everything I thought he was back in November.

Both the good and the bad.
The libs/dems of today are the Quislings of former years. The cowards who would vote a fraud into office in exchange for handouts from the devil.

IMHO he's the same person just a little more refined and the presidency is shaping him. As anticipated Trump quickly found that running an entire country and a Republic is much different than running a corporation; however his time running corporations and his dealings with foreign countries have been a tremendous asset and he is learning very quickly which has allowed him to react quickly and decisively to crises. It is unfortunate that he has met roadblocks from his own party as it has hindered his agenda, and he has taken on more criticism then is deserved, yet at times seems to be prevailing. I am surprised by his patriotism and find it extremely refreshing.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

Why do people keep buying into this  :bs:?

Armchair psychotherapists, in the media and on forums, only help hide the truth:  President Trump is erasing the "accomplishments" of eight long, anti-American Obama years.

Let Trump be Trump.   Focus on what he's accomplishing, not the critiques from overpaid "deep thinkers" on how he's doing it.

The backroom armchair psychs will continue with their noise; they can't attack what he's accomplishing, they can only attack him personally.  I am in no way giving President Trump a pass on everything as I have been recently accused.  Of course he should be criticized when he's wrong but he also needs to be equally given a pat on the back when he's right.  Trump's personality still ruffles feathers and always will and he's not the most articulate or polished president we've had, but  I think you'd be hard pressed to find any president that has rolled up his sleeves, jumped in and gotten things done as he has despite all the negativity slung his way.

He is pretty much what I expected:  self-absorbed, impulsive, a liar, and focused more on himself and his image than on the country. I had hoped (but really wasn’t very optimistic) that the weight of the Presidency might, just might, cause him to grow into the job to actually serve as President rather than playing the President. Sadly, my hopes were dashed.

I am doing exactly that!  I wish him EVERY success for so long as he continues to do right things!  When he strays from that path I'll be on him like white on rice!

I feel he's a lot better than I expected.  I thought he'd double down on the trend of consolidating ever more power in the executive branch, but (aside from the early threats to primary republicans) I've been quite pleased at the way he has colored within the lines and let Congress (not) do their job.

Yeah,   but I think he started feeling like this guy after he took office.
