Axelrod warns: Talk of removing Trump a 'very dangerous road'
By Mallory Shelbourne - 08/23/17 06:38 PM EDT

Former Obama advisor David Axelrod on Wednesday cautioned against talk that President Trump is unfit for office, saying it opens the door to a potentially “dangerous road.”

“The inference was that somehow there should be some effort to remove him, or at least that’s how some people would have heard it,” Axelrod told CNN’s “The Situation Room.”

“And I think we have to be very, very careful when we have these discussions because we have a system, a Constitutional system.”

That may be one of the only things David Axelrod has ever said that I agree with.  I hate that Trump is POTUS, but he certainly hasn't done anything that warrants removal from office.

Right.  And the fact that even a hard-core leftist hack like Axelrod commented on this is a sign of how truly serious this issue is.

Axelrod is a tactician above all else, and he knows this will make things worse for Democrats in the long run, not better.  It's a simple calculation for him.  His is not any sort of commentary on the quality of job he thinks Trump is doing, just whether or not such a move moves the ball down the field for his team, and he has concluded it does not.

This is why I'm tempted to cheer for the Maxine Waters of the world, who want to take Trump out by any means necessary.

Once you start impeach President's for being bad presidents (in someone's eyes), it will never end. The President will serve until Congress changes hands, and he is impeached.

At that point we will have a defacto parliamentary system.

Yup.  It sets a terrible precedent when Presidents get impeached just "because we can."  The concept of high crimes and misdemeanors goes out the window, and I don't think the people would stand for it, even if most of them are illiterate sheep.

Just goes to show how crazy our country has become right now when I find myself agreeing with the likes of David Axelrod because HE is making sense.
