S.C. Sen. Lindsey Graham's bill for slain American student clears key hurdle on Capitol Hill

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham's bill named for a young man killed by Palestinian terrorists could be on its way to becoming law.
The so-called Taylor Force Act was reported out of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in a vote of 17-4 Thursday, paving the way for consideration on the Senate floor at a later date.
The South Carolina Republican's legislation would cut off foreign aid to the Palestinian Authority unless it guarantees it will no longer offer cash prizes for killing Americans or Israelis.
Taylor Force was a 29-year-old graduate student at Vanderbilt University who was studying abroad in Israel last year when he was killed by a Palestinian terrorist.
His parents, Stuart and Robbi Force of Kiawah Island, have stayed in close contact with Graham's staff since the legislation was introduced late last year. Stuart Force attended a July 12 Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing where lawmakers discussed the issue for the first time.................
