We will have to see how serious this is.  Eventually, someone may have to go in and help that country.  The guy in the glasses in the above picture doesn't seem to be hurrying too much.

Man, if this event in Manila is what it looks like… how do you think Duterte will respond?

Thankfully, this appears to be a situation under control and the army says the police are in control of the situation. It may have only been a gunman trying to rob the place. It may have been a single gunman.

Most importantly, no reports of deaths from what I've heard.

UPDATE: MANILA, June 2 (Reuters) - The Philippines' police chief said on Friday there was no indication the shooting incident at a Manila gaming resort was related to terrorism and it may have been a robbery.

Ronald dela Rosa said police were in control of the situation and it was possible Islamic State would claim responsibility for the incident to serve its propaganda.

He told DZMM radio that a lone gunman entered the gaming area at Resorts World and set some tables on fire. The gunshots, he said, were not aimed at people in the room.

"We cannot say this is an act of terror ... he did not hurt anyone," he said. "If you are a terrorist you will sow terror."

I was in Manila Valentines Day 2005 when 3 bombs went off almost simultaneously one at the Intercontinental, the Hotel I was staying in, and a couple of other locations around the city. If I recall the attacks killed 10 or 15 and a couple of hundred injured. Adu Sayyaf, the Muslim separatists from the south, claimed responsibility almost immediately.

This doesn't really sound like Muslim terrorism to me...not well enough planned or executed. Bombs are the Muslim weapon of choice in that part of the world and multiple locations are the MO...lone gunman are very rare as few in the population have access to private firearms...
