I find the GOP's aquissence in any foriegn nation's potential meddling in the election of a US presiident  simply astounding.

At least based on what we know so far, Russia didn't "meddle in the election".  Russia tried to influence American public opinion.   The American people were free to believe or disbelieve those documents/facts, and also free to take into account their alleged Russian source.  If that actually affected the results of the election, it was because voters decided that the substance of the information was more important than the source.  And that is a decision that should be the voters to make.

Now, if Trump deliberately made a deal with Russia that they'd hack the DNC in exchange for considerations from a President Trump, that's a different story.  But after nearly a year of investigating this -- including 6 months under the prior Administration, there is zero evidence that actually happened.

And if this was the first time Russia used intelligence to leak information to the media to hurt an American politician, I'll eat my keyboard.

I agree with this. If Trump let this story fizzle down the public would eventually get bored with it. But idiot boy had to tweet and attack and create a new controversy out of nothing (the wiretapping garbage).

I agree. We don't want the government deciding what is fake news or not.
