MORON ALERT: NYT's Charles Blow Calls To 'Pause This Presidency'

When there is smoke, there is fire. Unfortunately for The New York Times, the dumpster fire known as its opinion section continues to get stoked with the words of unhinged leftists saying categorically insane things. Usually, Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Krugman throws coal into the smoldering trash heap with his often unsubstantiated views, or Thomas Friedman peddles insufferable nonsense that often triggers you slamming your face through a desk.

But this time it was Charles Blow, who wasted no time on this fine Monday morning by publishing a piece aptly titled "Pause This Presidency!" This calls the question of why on earth Blow believes that Donald Trump's presidency should endure an uncharacteristic "pause." He kicks off the column with the following charge:

The American people must immediately demand a cessation of all consequential actions by this “president” until we can be assured that Russian efforts to hack our election, in a way that was clearly meant to help him and damage his opponent, did not also include collusion with or coverup by anyone involved in the Trump campaign and now administration.

Let us ignore for a moment that Blow placed the word "president" in quotation marks, alluding to his asinine belief that Trump is #NotHisPresident, and focus on his baseless charges. First of all, the charge that Trump and the Russians colluded to rig the election is false. There is no evidence of it; even the intelligence community acknowledged that it is such a fantasy that it makes Thomas the Tank Engine look real.

However, that does not stop Blow from alluding to the leftist narrative that the American public does not see Trump as a legitimate president and therefore, before Trump continues with his constitutionally-mandated duties and suggests policy to Congress, he needs to prove that he is innocent to the unhinged leftists who already find him guilty.

The problem these days with journalism as a whole is that there is too much opinion and not enough hard news reporting.

The two have become co mingled.  Too many people take an opinion columnist like Charlie here and think he's reporting fact.

The Conservatives have the same problem with the like of Fox News.

Everyone is trying to be the next Woodward and Bernstein instead of just being a good reporter.  We've got too many journalists and not enough reporters in the country today.

Liberals just don't understand the constitution.

There are no redo's, no new elections, nowhere. There is the 25 amendment and impeachment, and there are new elections in 2020. That's it.

One tweet I saw from a liberal, wanted a new election, but between bernie and hillary only, as the GOPers had shown they couldn't be trust.

Also fake black guy shaun king wanted to know what it would take to get a recall amendment. Yes it could happen, there is an amendment process but if you think getting 2/3 of each house of Congress to agree to one then you're simply nuts. And getting 2/3 of state legislatures? Impossible.

They're all just amazingly ignorant.

On the other hand, I don't think a recall amendment is necessarily a bad idea. I just don't think you could apply it retroactively.

The New York Times is accustomed to setting the tone of the news.  It is horrible, oh, horrible, most horrible to them that Trump is now setting the tone of the news and they are playing catch up and not doing that good a job of it.

Yes, but remember we've just had two terms of a president for whom the constitution was something he wiped his rearend with.  Liberals believe that presidents are dictators....some are good (liberal presidents), and some are automatically bad (Republicans.)
Being emotionally driven and reality clueless they have a dim understanding of the rule of law.
In fact, a number of libs called on King Barack to be a dictator and punish his (and their's) enemies.  It's a tribal thing with them.
