Because of the way information and communication has drastically changed in the last 20 years, "News" now has to be "marketed" in order to entice a 'consumer' to pick it up.

I'm watching this now being done on "Conservative" sites as well as MSM sites.  The more outrageous the headline, the more chance of getting someone to click on the article and get a 'hit' and to expose them to all sorts of other pop-ups and forced ads pushes.  Clickbait is now the new media norm, because with all the info out there - the competition to get people to read anything has reached unreal proportions.

Uh...no.   That's not true.  Not true at all.

I'm no fan of Trump, but I feel that I must speak up when I see or hear BS.  Most of the decisions and things he has done so far, one month in to his presidency, have been met with approval from most folks on the right (excluding #nevereverevertrumpers, of course).

The problem I see with some nevertrumpers is.... literally NOTHING he can ever do or say will ever meet with their approval.   Theirs is not a fair stance.  It's not reasonable.  And it's not rational.

If Trump does something that I see as good for America as a free nation and as a positive step toward America's recovery from the Obamanation, I will support it.... and even defend it if I'm forced to.

Take exception with it all you like but it's true.

He hasn't done anything positive of substance.  He's thrown out a bunch of campaign trail like proposals...but nothing concrete has come from anything he's tried...and the one solid thing his administration tried to do blew up in their faces because it was so poorly executed.

He's too busy on his damn twitter feed and waging an Alinsky like war on the media to actually do anything right now.

If he was truly concerned about governing he log out of twitter and get busy filling out his cabinet and acting like a President. 

But at this point that seems something he's not capable of.  And that is just what some people feared before he was elected.

Look at this headline:

Nothing in the story backs up that headline.  But no one is hollering FAKE NEWS because the body of the story doesn't support the body of the piece.

Not entirely.   It's changed for the worse recently, as Twitter, Facebook and other social media becomes the place most folks are getting their news from.

I'm seeing headlines pushed such as "You will not believe what Trump did today!" on news feeds in order to entice you to click.   One one recent feed, the headline was "Islamists who hate Trump attack Police and set town center on fire" - the link ended up being a story about Muslims in France causing mayhem.

We just now live at a time when truth is whatever the narrative dictates by whomever is pushing it.  It's no longer the Left or the MSM that is engaged in doing it.

It's everyone.

"Sources say..." passes for "fact" in many of the stories any more, without direct attribution, even when such could be made. The news has become little more than a smorgasbord of opinion with the weakest possible link to reality.
