PALM SPRINGS, CALIF. — Sen. Mike Lee told a large gathering of libertarian donors that President Donald Trump’s eventual nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court is going to be confirmed by the Senate.

“It’s a fantastic list,” he said of the names floated as in the running for Trump’s nomination. “I’m very confident that whoever the president nominates is going to get confirmed…. I can tell you this: At the end of the day, any one of the people that President Trump is looking at will be confirmed by the Senate– we will make sure of that.”

Lee is a member of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

And on the dozens of upcoming nominations for the lower courts, the Utah Republican said, “all of those should be able to get confirmed easily in the Republican Senate.”

Nominating and confirming one of the justices on the list can't come soon enough!
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Trump never said that he would pick someone from the list.

What is McConnell going to give away to 8 Dems, I wonder, or is he going to pull the trigger on the nuclear option.   The only other option is Trump's ability to humiliate them trough a twitter tantrum.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

Name eight Democrat senators who will vote for any Trump nominee....
I can't.
It is either that or nuclear option

The wheels aren't about to come off the system - they've already come off. The nuclear option to install a Constitutionalist on the SCOTUS is the only (slim) hope of steering the ship back on course.

I doubt McConnell sees it this way though.

If the choice was between swaying just one Democrat or the nuclear option, I would take the nuclear option every time.

In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit.

Lots of reports that it's Neil Gorsuch.  I hope not, and I'm hoping that this is one of the typical head-fakes they like to do.

Trump never said that he would pick someone from the list.

Yes he did and more than once.  He even met with Cruz regarding the 'list' and vowed to Cruz he would pick from the list before Cruz announced that he was voting for Trump (that was one of Cruz's reasons for voting for him).

I went back and checked it out.  Back in May, he said he would use the list as a guide.  But after the election, he said the list was definitive.
