People Outraged Over A White Man Playing Michael Jackson

The outrage following the casting of a white actor to play Michael Jackson has led to the shows canceling Thursday.

White actor Joseph Fiennes had been cast to play Michael Jackson in an episode of the cable show “Urban Myths,” reports USA Today.

Sky Arts, the U.K. broadcaster of the show, pulled the episode “Elizabeth, Michael & Marlon,” after the trailer for it drew criticism from Jackson’s family.

Paris Jackson, one of Jackson’s children, said the episode trailer offended her so much that she almost threw up.

“I’m so incredibly offended by it, as I’m sure plenty of people are as well, and it honestly makes me want to vomit,” she wrote.

Jackson’s nephew, Taj, also expressed disdain with Fiennes playing the role of Jackson in the show.

“Unfortunately, this is what my family has to deal with. No words could express the blatant disrespect,” Taj declared.

Paris kept up with her criticism of the show, saying that it offended not only her father, but her godmother Elizabeth Taylor.

“It angers me to see how obviously intentional it was for them to be this insulting, not just towards my father, but my godmother liz as well,” Paris tweeted.

Sky Arts announced that it would be pulling the episode in light of the family’s comments.

“We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events & never intended to cause any offence,” Sky Arts said in a tweet. “Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision.”

Sky Arts announced that it would be pulling the episode in light of the family’s comments.

 

You couldn't buy that kind of advertising or ask for better ratings!   But NOOooo they don't have a pair, (much like Michael)  and won't aired it.
