NY Giants Player’s Home Robbed and Vandalized, Police to Probe as Hate Crime
By Ben Capistrano -  December 9, 2016

Police are probing a burglary and the scribbling of racist graffiti at the New Jersey residence of a New York Giants player.

Sgt. Richard Behrens of the Moonachie police told The Record that the break-in at Nikita Whitlock’s home is being investigated as a hate crime. Electronics and Jewelry were also taken, he said.

Whitlock showed reporters the graffiti where a swastika together with “KKK” and other racial slurs were scrawled on various walls within his family’s home. Further, the name “Trump” was written on the wall in marker.

Whitlock is a fullback for the Giants but he is currently on the injured reserve list with a foot injury. In September, he was suspended for 10 games without pay for breaking the NFL rule on performance-enhancing substances.

On Thursday, he told The Record: “They broke in, they vandalized, they shared their opinion – they could have shared it on Facebook, but they decided to share it in this fashion. I think the one thing that does disturb me more is the fact that people are using (President-elect Donald) Trump’s name. To me, it’s like, OK, you believe Trump believes certain things. But he wasn’t here. This was a personal decision, not a Trump decision. So next time, write your name on the wall.”
