McConnell: Obamacare repeal measure coming within weeks

An Obamacare repeal resolution will be the first item the Senate votes on next year, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Tuesday, underscoring the GOP's commitment to repealing the law even as its replacement plan remains unclear.

McConnell told reporters that repealing Obamacare would be "the first item up in the new year," and the Kentucky Republican that he would like to "get Democratic cooperation" during the difficult process of replacing "a very, very controversial law."

Incoming Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) had a simple reply to McConnell's plans for an early repeal of President Obama's signature health care overhaul: "Bring it on."

"We're certainly not gonna be part of this idea of repeal and put nothing in its place," Schumer told reporters. Citing an emerging GOP plan to delay a replacement for as long as three years, he warned that "saying they'll do it sometime down the road will cause huge calamity from one end of America to the other."

Way to go McConnell!!!!

If schumer and the Rats want to filibuster that's fine. It will get done through reconciliation then. The Rats refused to compromise, or consider any alternatives that the Pubs offered when they forced obamacare on us. Now after 8 long years it will be ended. If the Rats want to get on board and offer reasonable alternatives the Pubs would be smart to include them. If the Rats only want to cry like a bunch of "snowflakes" then ignore them and push ahead.

Repeal is one thing.

The real question is, what then?  Go back to dumping costs onto hospitals til they go out of business?  How do we make people responsible for their own costs, without either a mandate or letting people just die from their stupidity/irresponsibility (both of which seem to be unpalatable to many)?

Conservatives need to show they have solutions, not just break stuff down.

Sure repealing Obamacare is the easy part; but what are they going to replace it with or what other solution(s) do they have.  The GOP absolutely needs to come through on this.  IMHO McConnell is pushing this probably knowing full well that no solid plan or systems is in place which would make the GOP look completely incompetent ... McConnell is not on our side; never has been!

I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.
