Two Destroyers To Be Named for Medal of Honor Recipients
By Associated Press
September 19, 2016
OXFORD, Miss. — Navy Secretary Ray Mabus says two destroyers will be named for Marines who received the Medal of Honor for actions during World War II.
The 509-foot-long Arleigh Burke-class destroyers will be the first ships named for Jack H. Lucas and Louis H. Wilson Jr., he said during a ceremony Saturday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford.
