Trump strikes fear into teachers unions with vow for billions in school choice funding

Speaking at the Family Research Council-hosted Values Voter Summit in Washington on Friday, GOP nominee Donald Trump vowed to push for a $20 billion federal budget reallocation for school vouchers.
“As your president, I will be the biggest cheerleader for school choice you’ve ever seen,” Trump told the evangelical crowd as he unveiled detailed education policy proposals.
In addition to the huge federal grants, the candidate said he’ll “campaign to get the states to re-allocate another $110 billion of their education budgets to school choice programs,” according to CBS News.
