Pastor killed by Muslims for preaching and refusing to sell them land for mosque in Uganda

A Ugandan pastor was killed by a group of Muslims for continuously evangelizing and for refusing to sell them land to be used for a mosque.

On July 24, Pastor Robert Bakulubanywa of the Bubulanga Victory Church in eastern Uganda was walking home from an evening service when a group of Muslims attacked him near his house. The 38-year-old pastor's wife, whose name has been withheld for security purposes, said he had been threatened several times before Sunday's incident, Morning Star News details.

In an interview with Morning Star, a resident said the Muslims grabbed the pastor, tied him up, and killed him using a very sharp sword. His wife also mentioned more threats to his life after their Friday prayers on July 22, prompting a neighbor to warn the pastor to steer clear of the Muslims.

"The Muslims had issued several warnings to him to stop converting the Muslims to Christ, especially the youth," Pastor Bakulubanywa's wife told Morning Star. "For over a month the Muslims have been pressuring us to sell a piece of land to them for the construction of a mosque, but my husband refused."
