A California man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly building a chemical weapon and leaving it inside a Walmart.
Martin Reyes, 31, was arrested Tuesday for the unlawful possession and manufacturing of a chemical weapon of mass destruction after a month-long investigation.
On June 18, police discovered an improvised chemical weapon inside an Oxnard Walmart store and evacuated the store, according to the arrest report.
Six hours later, a hazardous material team rendered the device safe and the Walmart was reopened. The store reported a loss of $120,000 while the police cleared the area.
