Donald Trump has already had problems making inroads with female, gay and minority voters. His vice-presidential pick, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, could make things even worse.

Pence, the Republican governor of Indiana, has endorsed conservative legislation on abortion, gay rights and immigration both in his home state and while in Congress, where he was consistently ranked as one of the most right-leaning members of the House. He attempted to shut down the government over Planned Parenthood funding, supported a measure that made English the nation’s official language and signed one of the nation’s strictest abortion laws earlier this year.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign remains confident of victory because of their candidate’s strength among one crucial group in the electorate: white women. Actually, Hillary doesn’t even need a majority of this group; she just needs to come within ten points of Trump. Trump should have countered with a strong female nominee for Vice President to preserve strength among white women.

Security moms?  Those are married women, and Clinton has a lead among married women, albeit a small one.  Romney won married women in 2012.

No, not all are married women.

Nobody is saying that Trump will get no female votes.  Given Trump's behavior he is likely to get an even smaller percentage of female voters than past Republican candidates.  That's all.

Trump continues to make this election about himself, which is exactly what the Democrats want.  Trump hasn't demonstrated, in any way, that he's ready to be president.

As long as he gives speeches like yesterday (65% about himself, 13% about Hillary), he paints a target on his back and will lose.
