To your point, I think most of them are intelligent and informed enough to know that the core problem is the delegation of legislative power to the Executive Branch.  Yet, how often do they actually try beating that drum?  That is what absolutely must change, and yet, they don't discuss it.  Probably because it just isn't sexy enough for listeners.

Lots of stuff needs to change. Biggest would be to start respecting the 10th amendment. Wouldn't mind seeing the 16th and 17th Amendments get 86'd. Wouldn't mind seeing the Department of Energy and Education go. EPA too.

Will probably never ever happen. Conservative pipe dream IMO.

The real shame is the GOP had the votes to do whatever they wanted in Bush's term up until 2006. That was when people should have been complaining, but if you remember that conservatism was all consumed with the Iraq War at the time. It was nothing but freedom fries and rah rah rah.

Hmmmm, so McConnell, talk radio is responsible for this?

Ted Cruz says in his book:

Quote

[Boehner says...]

That Tuesday lunch began with our leadership saying, “We’re asking every Republican senator here, to affirmatively consent to lower the threshold for Harry Reid to take up the debt ceiling, from 60 votes to 50 votes. And we were told, everyone of you should agree for two reasons.

Number one, if we do this, it will happen, and hallelujah, hallelujah, that’s what we want. We want trillions more in debt with no spending reforms, because we’re scared of this issue. We don’t want to have a political fight on this.

But number two, if we do this, the Democrats will have the votes to do it on their own, which means all of us Republicans can vote no. And we can go home and tell our constituents, we opposed the thing we just consented to allow happen.

Now, I (Cruz) was sitting there — to be honest, I hadn’t gone to lunch intending to pick a fight, but as I listened to that, I was astonished and I raised my hand, and I said, “There’s no universe in which I can consent to doing that. I spent two years campaigning across Texas, telling Texas, if you elect me, I’ll fight with every breath in my body to stop the out of control spending and debt that are bankrupting our kids and grandkids.”

If were to do that, I think it would be both dishonest and unfaithful to the men and women who elected me.

I won't be here after the election and vote.

If Hillary wins - I will be busy, BLOAT! (It won't be long before she won't let you buy.)

If Trump wins, I won't be here to GLOAT. (I don't want to hang around while everyone looks at every speck in his eye.)

Thanks.  They had a long list of great DJ's, and excellent programing, even down to Dr. Demento.

I think "the Fraz" was actually on 95.5 KLOS, IIRC.   But I do remember listening to Doctor Demento on KMET.

I think he went to KLOS for a bit at some point but he was at KMET in 84 for sure.

The current congress is the least productive in history because of their opposition to the President.
While the current Congress is passing fewer bills, they are passing more pages of legislation than any Congress since the 1940's.  And since the current trend is to bundle a whole mountain of bad legislation into a must-pass appropriations bills, it is pretty hard to call them unproductive.  The problem is, people understand they are subverting their constituents by hiding the bad legislation and whining that their hands are tied.

"Unrealistic expectations"

Anyone who believes a campaign promise from McConnell or any other RINO is going to have those.

You're correct.  From an article: KLOS (1979 – 1984); KMET (1984 – 1986). That explains why I was not aware, having left the area near the end of 82.

Hmmmm, so McConnell, talk radio is responsible for this?

Ted Cruz says in his book:

You realise that to Trump supporters, Ted should have compromised and worked with the Democrats there. lol
