A trip to the men’s restroom at a Walmart in Clinton quickly escalated into a full-fledged struggle when one man criticized another for bringing his 5-year-old daughter with him.

Christopher Adams said his 7-year-old son, Kyler, and 5-year-old daughter, Emery, both had to go when the family visited the store Sunday to buy blinds and storage bins, so he took them both inside the men’s restroom in the back of the store.

“This guy walks in and goes to the bathroom, the urinal,” Adams recalled Tuesday. “Then he just, like, turns to me and starts freaking out, dropping the ‘F-bomb,’ and what he was freaking out about was that my daughter was in the men’s bathroom.”

(snip)

“When I turned back around, I got sucker-punched right here,” Adams said, pointing to his left eye, which still was bruised.

(snip)

“This is a situation where a father felt the most reasonable and safe thing for him to do is to take his children inside the restroom with him, and the customer took exception to that,” [Clinton Police Lt. Shawn] Stoker said.

(remainder snipped)

20 or more years ago, a young child, even one of the opposite sex, accompanying a parent to the restroom would not be, in any way, considered controversial. Now, with certain segments of the population trying to blur all sexual roles, it becomes an incident where somebody completely goes postal.

Ehhhhhhh....

Can't say I'm comfortable with a little girl in the men's room. I don't know. I have ran into it on occasion. Thing about men's rooms is they're a tad more "exposed" than women's rooms.

Not saying I blame the father either, I understand that being a parent means sometimes you need to do things like this.

So I see both sides.

This is why the some places have a "family restroom".

Just one toilet, sink, etc.

Very good idea.

Even if it is an inconvenience, I would try to find a hotel, office building,  convenience store, church, etc.  somewhere that might have a restroom that might not be as busy. This was a Walmart after all.

That made my head spin for a second.

Lately, I have become disoriented with present day and 10 years ago whenever I come to this site. That is a real thing. Sometimes I have to look and look again at a post or a poster and readjust.

Still waiting for the beeber post. Or did I already miss it?

So a father can't take his tiny daughter into the restroom without some dickless jerk losing his mind?

What did he think, that the kid was going to assault him?

LOL!! The dipwad who got agita over seeing a FIVE YEAR OLD GIRL in the men's restroom is likely somebody who's got to check between his legs once in a while to make sure it's still there.

By five, a little girl can go to the bathroom by herself.

Not anymore, could be a man in there waiting for her.

Decency? Surely the man took his daughter into a stall.

You can't be serious.

It's a mens room, other men go in there so they don't have to expose their members to the general public. Unlike NYC, where they yank it out and piss in the streets and sidewalks, some people think its bad manners to piss in front of children.

Or does only he have rights and nobody else.

Maybe we should ban bathrooms and doors on them, make the perverts happy.

I've had to do this in the past - out with my daughter and no wife around. She needs to go bad and I didn't feel comfortable sending her into the women's room alone.

It's right to a stall, wash hands, and out. Normal men get it and don't freak out. Besides, at five, a little girl doesn't even think in terms of privacy and embarrassment. They just think, "I have to go."

Who's showing their "members" to a kid in a stall?  This short-dicked clown was not "pissing in front of children."

I really can't believe how silly you are.

The story says clearly that the man was peeing at the urinal and when he finished he turned around and saw the little girl.

And punched the father.   Drunk, maybe?

Fair enough.  I get that.  Being female, I can only give my perspective.  But I believe if I were in his shoes I would have stuck my head in to see what was going on and waited until the man zipped himself back up before I entered with my daughter.  What I can identify with is being a little girl.  Think of the height of a 5 year old girl.  She is right at that eye level with his personal parts and she would be very embarrassed I would think.  At minimum she would ask questions.  The man was probably embarrassed and just overreacted to that.  I'm not excusing him, just explaining him.

As a woman, I can tell you I would NOT have undressed in front of a 5 year old boy ever.  Before long the liberals are going to start asking the courts to overturn laws restricting public nudity.  Who does it hurt?  We are all born that way.  On and on.

You must at least see that grown men should not be whipping out their personal parts in front of little girls.

News flash: no one sees anyone's junk in the men's room unless you go waaaay out of your way to see. Doing THAT will get you slugged.

I've been going into men's rooms my whole life and I think I saw ONE guy whip it out while walking to the stall. Plenty of little boys with their asses hanging out, but no "man anatomy."

It just doesn't happen.

No way would I send my son alone into the men's room.  I'd rather he wet his pants.  Wet clothes are a lot easier to fix than other things.

immaterial.

Men and women have every right to expect that the opposite sex not be in their bathroom.

Yep. Keywords being "men" and "women." Five year olds don't count, unless you are sexualizing them in some weird way.
