The head of the New Brunswick Teachers Association says violence is so frequent and severe in the classroom that teachers are being forced to wear protective Kevlar clothing. “We are told that some teachers have to wear Kevlar because of the biting that is going on with students and some of the kicking and punching and things of that nature,” said Guy Arseneault. Kevlar is normally used as body armour by police, or in war zones.
