Quote
MANCHESTER, N.H.—Republican presidential candidate Chris Christie said he didn’t care who became the new House speaker in the wake of the sudden exit of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy from the race for the top GOP slot.

Repeatedly sounding a populist tone in a three-day swing here in New Hampshire, the New Jersey governor said that only political insiders follow “who’s going to get the title, who gets to sit in the special big chair, who is going to get the great table at the restaurant in Washington.”

“I quite frankly don’t care who it is because the American people don’t care,” Mr. Christie told reporters after a campaign stop in New Hampshire Thursday afternoon.

Republicans Thursday left a closed-door GOP conference meeting saying Mr. McCarthy dropped out of the race to succeed House Speaker John Boehner. The Ohio Congressman delayed the vote to determine his successor.

Mr. McCarthy said Congress needed a fresh face to replace him. Mr. Boehner announced he was stepping down at the end of last month.

Asked about the upset after a town hall with workers of a Manchester machine shop, Mr. Christie said he had no opinions on Mr. McCarthy as a House speaker candidate, nor did he have another individual in mind.

“It’s so dysfunctional and so ugly down there that it didn’t matter to me who the speaker was,” Mr. Christie said. “Congressman McCarthy is out and a new cast of characters is in.”

I have said almost nothing about Gov. Christie since he entered the race, because he hasn't said anything worth commenting on.  Today I can announce he is an idiot who should not be President.

Gov. Christie ...
Today I can announce he is an idiot who should not be President.

The tough "Joiseyboy" routine has run its course....

Clearly this is not a good time for Governors (Perry, Walker). Actually having a record, is out of fashion, as proved by the success of Obama and now by Trump, Fiorina and Carson.

LOL!  Christie gave the safest answer a candidate could give.  Meaningless, but safe.
