Compromise *IS* the heart of any sort of republic.  Give a little, get a little.

Or as Mick Jagger once said, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes... you get what you need."

And, what exactly, are our senators getting?

Who said fundraising was tied to popularity?  Or are you really saying that Bush is incredibly popular?!?

Now, that's an interesting question.  Bush's sponsors are a few, very large sponsors with some pretty clear interests.  Cruz' on the other hand, are mostly a lot of small donors.

I said Andrew Breitbart was a neo-con and you can take it or leave it but I think proudly so.

I remember Breitbart speaking at Tea Party gatherings and being quite bombastic - kind of like Donald Trump.

Cain, Bachmann, and Santorum all ran as outsiders...hell even Speaker Gingrich said he was an outsider.  http://thehill.com/video/campaign/193615-former-speaker-gingrich-says-hes-a-washington-outsider  2 Governors (Gary Johnson, and Buddy Roehmer) who dropped out early and left the party to run as libertarian, and reform party candidates.

Believe what you want ac.  I'm not going to change your mind...just try not to be too disappointed when the real voting happens.

Thanks for the response.

Among the factors of a successful run for office is the candidates party affiliation (which depends on the year and electorate mood, of course), and the candidate himself, his personality, background, scandals etc. Cain, Bachmann, Santorum, Gingrich, Johnson, Roehmer may simply not have been presidential timber in the eyes of GOP voters.

While it's difficult to make direct comparisons, looking at how Trump conducts himself while remaining the front runner, and at doctor Carson's Sominex personality, and factoring Cruz's gadfly reputation and his bridge burning, and Fiorini's history at ill fated Lucent Technologies, these candidates are unquestionably outsiders and appear to have pushed aside the insider establishment candidates almost to obscurity.

So I continue to believe this election is the year of the establishment's rude awakening.

Of course, as many you are probably thinking, I could be whack.

My recollection of Andrew Breitbart was he spoke of party unity, not caring who the GOP candidate would be  - if you're not satisfied with the candidate, you are on the other side.

My pleasure ac.  I don't think you're whacked.  I think you are a good man who loves your country.  I also think your wrong on this point of voter discontent...just as you think I'm wrong.

Time, as usual, will be the final arbiter. I'm sure then our differences will be put aside for the sake of a unified front and the good ol' USA.  :patriot:

Andrew called out Trump as the fraud he is!
