The noteworthy feature, is that Cruz is from the faction favored by internet "true conservatives."

Not the faction of GOPe, RINOS, C of C, etc. (did I miss any acronyms, slurs, etc.?)

He did all this and more, with a wife working for Goldman Sachs, which proves he wields deft political skills.

That is true. But Cruz did have a formidable enemy in sinkspur, who hasn't had a kind thing to say about the rookie Cruz since he took out sinkspur's fav dav Dewhurst.

In Texas, it doesn't matter as long as you have an 'R' by your name.  It's like California, but in reverse.  Cruz could have run over Jesus with a Jeep and still been elected.

I got to work on Cruz' senatorial campaign (a tiny bit, nothing big), and I gotta tell you, the guy is impressive.  He shouldn't have won that campaign, and it didn't look like he would until he did.  I think Cruz, imperfect though he is, is our best shot at getting anything positive done in DC.  My two-cents worth.
