Mitch McConnell Gives Fiscal Conservatives The BIG MIDDLE FINGER – Announces Plans To “Work With” Obama On Budget….

In the unlikely event you can’t hear the sound of the Rhinoceros marching on bubble wrap directly behind you, it might be worth while getting a firmer grip on both your ankles:

[…]  “The Senate Democrats have a big enough number to prevent us from doing things. They prevented us from doing any of the bills that appropriate money for the government, thereby forcing a negotiation when we go back in after Labor Day, which I’ll be engaged in with the administration and others to try to sort out how much we’re going to spend and where we’re going to spend it.”  ~ Mitch McConnell

So? What's new about that?
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

The worst part is that Kentuckians had a choice in '14 and got too wrapped up in chicken talk to actually remember.

The GOPe is only doing what they always do. They are obeying their Liberal msters.

It is becoming more and more difficult to argue that the GOPe are not full blown Democrats in Republican costumes.

They do what Democrats do.
They say what Democrats say.
They vote as Democrats vote.

They both hate the same people, Conservatives and regular American people who, unlike them, cannot afford champagne and caviar for breakfast every morning.  (we are all such trash and rabble, aren't we)

There is nothing these guys could ever do that would ever surprise me. They are simply doing what they are told to do by their owners on K-Street.

The people currently calling themselves 'Republican', for whhatever reason, are just part of the show. They are all about theatrics with no substance behind it. And if there ever is any substance to anything they do, the outcome always favors the Liberals about 100% of the time.

That is why I chuckle when the hair-on-fire anti-Trump squawing geese keep screamimg that Trump is a Democrat. LoL

Who cares!? How is that any different than what we have now!?

I don't think that the words Republican and Democrat have any meaning anymore.
You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.

One of the primary duties of Congress is to pass a budget.  And we rightly criticized Congress for failing that duty in years past.

Now that Congress is freely admitting they will do anything to get a budget passed, we are now criticizing them for trying to accomplish one of their primary duties.

That's amazing.

And the House of Representatives can control what is in that budget all by themselves! That is if the had the GUTS to do it!

Ah, I see.

So the process of crafting a budget in Congress, according to you, is that the House of Representatives drafts it... and votes to pass it.  And with that vote, it becomes law.

The Senate must accept or reject it. It cannot rewrite it. All budget bills must originate in the House.

And there is nothing that prevents the Senate from drafting something they'd like to see... and sending it over to the House as a 'template' for the House bill.  (Which the House can ignore.)

There is a difference between originating and altering or amending.  The Senate can constitutionally amend an appropriations bill that originated in the House.  The Congressional Research Service has a small paper on the basic process:  http://www.senate.gov/CRSReports/crs-publish.cfm?pid=%260BL%2BP%3C%3B3%0A

If Congress wanted to change any part of that procedure, they could vote to do so.

If the President vetoed it, they would need 2/3 in both houses, to override his veto.
