Quote
Pat Venditte, the Oakland Athletics' switch-pitching sensation, has the ability to live on land and in water, according to the East Oregonian.

The little paper published out of Pendleton, Oregon, ran a headline on a story about Venditte touting him as "amphibious" rather than ambidextrous.

Who are they to judge what species he identifies with? If he likens himself to a newt, so be it. One's species may not be a matter of birth but a matter of choice. He should receive a bravery award for coming out as transpecies.

That's an old Yogi Berra joke:

"Mickey Mantle can bat left or right handed. He's amphibious."

Amazing. I hope he has a long and productive career. I used to love baseball.

His fast ball loses a little something underwater, but it still is nearly unhittable.
