Rick Perry version 2016 appears to be far stronger than Rick Perry 2012. In 2012 he was recuperating from serious back surgery while on the campaign trail (against his own doctor’s suggestion) but now he appears energized, focused, and sending out perhaps the strongest pro-America message of any of the GOP candidates to date. Perry 2016 is already generating significant and favorable buzz since announcing his candidacy this past week with one word being repeated over and over by prospective supporters – “PRESIDENTIAL.”

“In that American Cemetery, it is no accident each headstone faces west: west over the Atlantic, towards the nation they defended, the nation they loved, the nation they would never come home to.
It struck me as I stood in the midst of those heroes that they look upon us in silent judgment. And that we must ask ourselves: are we worthy of their sacrifice?
The truth is we are at the end of an era of failed leadership.
We have been led by a divider who has sliced and diced the electorate, pitting American against American for political purposes.”

The above was but one powerful segment part of a very powerful speech by Rick Perry as he announced his hope to win the White House in 2016. It was a speech that was both hopeful and strong in its defense of American tradition, while just as strongly condemning the divisive politics so inherent in the recent Obama years. It was a speech that was very well received by those who initially heard it, and then many of those same people passed the speech along to others with the suggestion they listen to it.

And so the impact of Perry’s announcement grew.

Will it be enough to alleviate voter concerns of Perry’s lackluster performance in 2012? That remains too soon to say, but what is certain is he appears a far more capable candidate than he was four years earlier and that bodes well for the entire GOP field because Rick Perry clearly is speaking for a great many Americans when he calls for us to lift the country up after so many years of tearing her down.

I could vote  for Perry.

But I don't think he's got a shot at becoming the candidate...

I think it's wide open and will depend on who makes a critical mistake(s).

I also think they ALL can beat Hillary.

I also think Hillary is the candidate, despite all her baggage.

We've got a lot of good to great candidates this time, I think mostly it boils down to stamina and the cream ultimately rising to the top. Perry has that potential.

Head to head I also think Perry would have a better than average shot at Hillary. Being the former Gov of Texas will have many advantages, as it is both southern, western, and a Great Plains state. With that kind of base he could really take it to her in the big electoral Great Lakes states. If he could pick off Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin he could take it all.
