Mother Defends Rotten Son By Saying He’s A Robber, Not A Killer

On the evening of January 7, 2015, the three teens pictured above – 16-year-old Antwain Dukes, 18-year-old Antreal Jones and 17-year-old Jerome Moore - robbed and killed 69-year-old Carolyn Temple. According to Mississippi News Now, these same teens are suspected to have also committed a slew of other crimes, including more robberies and several carjackings.
All three have since been arrested and charged with capital murder, though additional charges for armed robbery and aggravated assault are pending.
Here’s where the story gets rather bizarre. When Jerome Moore’s mother, Sharonda Burns, learned about what he had done, she tried to argue that he’s a robber, not a killer:
My son is known for house burglary. That’s all. He’s been going to the Juvenile Center for his house burglary. For one, my son is not going to shoot no gun. Now, I’m not saying he won’t rob nobody, but I know he won’t shoot no gun. He was not there the time the lady got attacked. I know for a fact where he was. He was not involved in that murder.
The way in which Moore’s mother casually discusses his propensity for robbing people ought to scare the living crap out of everyone. As should her willingness to lie out of her teeth and claim that her son was not even present at the time of the shooting.
Here’s my question: Is piss-poor parenting like that practiced by Sharonda Burns something that the “Black Lives Matter” protesters should take into consideration before they go disparaging the upstanding police officers who protect us from people like her son?
