Obama: Take Gas Money Savings and 'Buy a Fuel-Efficient Car'

(CNSNews.com) – Because gas prices are low now, President Barack Obama said people should take the savings from that and go buy a “new appliance” or “a fuel-efficient car,” during a speech today on at Pellissippi State Community College.

While speaking about the economy, Obama said,  "And by the way, you're saving about $1.10 a gallon at the pump over this time last year -- although I keep on reminding folks gas prices,they go up, and they come down and they go up.”

“So I just want everybody to know that you should enjoy this,” he said, “take the money you're saving, you know, pay off the credit card, or go get a new appliance, or buy a fuel-efficient car so that when prices go back up, you're still well positioned."

The president was at Pellissippi State Community College to announce his plan to make Community College free for the first two years.

"I want to bring it down to zero,” in terms of cost, he said.  “I want to make it free, I want to make it free. Community Colleges should be free to those who are willing to work for it."

The president was joined by Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden.

Idiot. Is he really unaware that fuel efficient cars mean less gasoline sold, thus less revenue to the states, which means the states lack the funds to repair the roads. Well, that's a shame.

I believe the implication is that if you're willing to work hard enough in school the education should be free. He could have worded that a lot better.
