Ayatollah Khamenei Doesn’t Want To Be Pen Pals With Obama

Posted By Jim Treacher On 5:08 PM 11/06/2014

The President of the United States has had a tough week. First he watched the voters thoroughly repudiate him. Now the news is out that he’s been begging and pleading for help from the Supreme Leader of Iran, who has no time for him either.

Jay Solomon and Carol E. Lee, Wall Street Journal:

Quote
President Barack Obama secretly wrote to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the middle of last month and described a shared interest in fighting Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria, according to people briefed on the correspondence…

The October letter marked at least the fourth time Mr. Obama has written Iran’s most powerful political and religious leader since taking office in 2009 and pledging to engage with Tehran’s Islamist government…

Mr. Khamenei never directly responded to the overtures, according to U.S. officials.

Why wouldn’t Obama keep reaching out to Khamenei? It’s not like the guy is a Republican.

This just about sums it up:

It’s not fair. Why doesn’t anybody like Barry anymore? It’s one thing for America to turn on him, but Iran? That’s just cold, man.
