The local news is reporting that Christie is losing some public support from New Jerseyans over state budget and economy issues. He's lost seven points in recent polling. Certainly Bridgegate hasn't been helpful.

With Democrats, for whatever reason, there are very few "ah crap" moments that haunt a candidate.  With Republicans that's all there is, and with Christie it's still that moment with Obama following Super storm Sandy.
It's the Supreme Court nominations!

I'm a Rand Paul fan and I am from the religious right and a lot of my friends from that group like him too. They will not vote for him if he is VP with Christie or Bush never ever. The ticket like that will lose.

Wouldn't vote for either one in a primary either.  But the general election is a different issue.  I'd vote for a groundhog over a Democrat.

About the only one out there I like (or may vote for) is Scott Walker of Wisconsin.

I could vote for Cruz, but the dems are going to crucify him -- not over conservatism, but over the citizenship issue. Wait and see.

Ultimately, it doesn't matter -who- I support, because I live in a state that will never "go Republican" again (CT). So I guess I have the luxury of "withholding support" from candidates whom I do not approve -- makes no difference.

Having said that, if the Pubbies lose in 2016, and again in 2020, I think it's going to be a L-O-N-G time before they win the presidency again.

Probably never.

My opinion only.
YMMV....

It's like I was saying tonight to my friend as we watched the uh-Os go down in flames...the demographics are just not there for that to ever happen.
Specifically we were talking about the possibility of a pubbie guv in Maryland but the same thing applies to POTUS.
