Zogby Report Card: Ebola, Islamic State, lower pay drag Obama down

Pollster John Zogby reports in our weekly White House report card that President Obama had little going his way this week.

"The week opened up with good economic news. Unemployment rate is down to 5.9 percent, 248,000 new jobs created and a readjusted 46,000 more from the previous month. But real wages came down so consumers are not feeling chipper, and only 27 percent in our Zogby Analytics Poll feel the U.S. is headed in the right direction.

“Not an Ebola panic yet, but folks are worried. [The Islamic State] is making gains, but no country is stepping forward into this potential quagmire.

“Domestically, the polls are too close in the Senate races to suggest which way the wind is blowing — except that we know whoever 'wins' isn't really going to win. The Zogby Polls show very low expectations, probably for a good reason.”
 
“And finally, it seems like statesmen like Robert Gates and Leon Panetta are determined to play small ball in their books that slap the president. Mr. Obama is the guy at the top, and it couldn't be very much fun up there this week.”

Other than the probability he's going to have a Congress that may be a bit harder to go around and lie to, I don't believe Obama gives a rat's ass about what his subjects think.  Not to put too fine a point on it.

What's truly offensive, as Limbaugh pointed out a few days ago, is that the news media are more concerned with the way Ebola might affect the Democrats than with the fact that thousands of human beings are dying from it.
