UK Telegraph: We lost the war on climate change: Hubris has ruined us, lets learn to enjoy warmer weather!

Britain can’t stop climate change. Scrap net zero and embrace Mediterranean life
The Telegraph

The UK Telegraph abandons Net Zero: “we were fooled”
This feels like a major step forward in the newspaper debate.

Allister Heath is Editor of The Sunday Telegraph, and he unleashes beautifully on the whole vainglorious, pointless self sabotage that is Net Zero. Perhaps his most deadly question is “what good has it done” —  or perhaps it’s the answer to “how bad can it be” — fergoodnessake, it might make Britain “more Mediterranean”.

Finally, a mainstream editor is edging closer to using my favourite weapon — connecting the distant ends of the climate debate together. Instead of just saying it costs too much, or we’re going about it the wrong way, he ridicules the hubris of trying to change the global climate in the first place and then almost (but not quite) mocks the sacred ogre — the idea that a warmer climate is a catastrophe: we might even enjoy a warmer drier more Mediterranean lifestyle, he says. Or as I would say, we’re spending billions trying to prevent more Beachy weather. He hasn’t quite got that far.  But he’s on fire.

Since this appears to be landing at the right time and place, this might be quite contagious. It could be the permission slip people need to jump off the global warming bus.

All true - - - until the next climate change guru, like Greta Thunberg, steps up.  Then it starts all over.
