It's been building since 2008/2009 Financial Crisis and Occupy Wall Street. This is when the Current World Order and the Global Establishments failed average citizens and shielded its own from justice and prison for their financial and political crimes.
2008/2009 Financial Crisis was a major fail of the Establishment. The banksters and the politicians in their pockets were never properly held to account. The UniParty Established failed everybody.
On the Conservative end of the spectrum, the angst was channeled into The Tea Party, The Freedom Caucus, and Trump/M.A.G.A.
On the Liberal end of the spectrum, the angst manifested itself in Obama, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and the DSA. The angst was also turned against older Centrist Establsihment Dems, like Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton, who berated younger Dems. Also, there is genuine resentment at Joe Biden for Trump getting elected a second time.
The Conservatives are further along in their journey to purge the last vestiges of the UniParty from the GOP. Conservatives were fortunate to have Donald Trump to coalesce around.
The Dems are in the early stages of their wandering in the political desert, with current coalescence around Democratic Socialism. They have more remnants of the UniParty to expunge from the Democratic Party.
The Liberal's rage originated in the 2008/2009 Financial Crisis and was stoked by the failures of the Biden Administration and disrespect from Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi.
The Liberals have every right to be seething mad at the DNC gerontocracy that got Trump elected a second time. On January 7th, 2021, who could have imagined that there was even the remote possibility of a 2nd Trump term?
Between the Dem leadership having no brains and GOP leadership lacking courage, the American voters are left to vacillate between the two parties to take chances on non-incumbents in the hopes that things will be different after the next election.
