Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is appearing at 9 a.m. Wednesday in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee for a confirmation hearing to officially become the successor to Pam Bondi.

President Donald Trump said in a Truth Social post ahead of Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche’s confirmation hearing that “every Republican Senator should vote to CONFIRM Todd Blanche, ASAP!”

“Todd Blanche is doing a PHENOMENAL job as Acting Attorney General of the United States. Under Todd’s incredible leadership at DOJ, Murder is down to the LOWEST level since 1900, and we just saw the biggest one year drop in RECORDED HISTORY,” Trump wrote on Tuesday.

“Todd has fought hard for Religious Liberty, ended the Weaponization of our Justice System, protected FREE SPEECH, kept Men OUT of Women’s Sports, strengthened Election Integrity, and gone to all-out-WAR against Fraud like nobody in the History of the Department of Justice. He is tough, brilliant, and 100% LOYAL to our Constitution, and the American People,” the president added.

“When the Corrupt Biden ‘Injustice’ Department and Radical Left Prosecutors tried to throw me in jail, and interfered in our Historic 2024 Presidential Campaign, Todd stood by my side and fought off the Lawfare,” Trump also said. “He is a great lawyer, always very fair, and every Republican Senator should vote to CONFIRM Todd Blanche, ASAP!”

Sen. Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii, opened part of her questioning of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche Wednesday by asking whether he had ever requested sexual favors or committed sexual harassment, reviving a confirmation hearing question that has repeatedly drawn mockery from conservatives.

"Low IQ @maziehirono begins her questioning of @DAGToddBlanche —an esteemed professional with an honorable record in public service—by asking, ‘Have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors?’ What a joke," the official White House Rapid Response account wrote on X.

Hirono used the same line of questioning during the confirmation hearing for Secretary of Interior Doug Burgum last year.

Hirono began introducing the questions in 2018, inspired by the #MeToo and #TimesUp movement.

"Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors or committed any verbal or physical harassment or assault of a sexual nature," Hirono asked.

"No, senator," Blanche responded.

"Have you ever faced discipline or entered into a settlement relating to this kind of conduct?" she followed up.

Schiff: Blanche Made It Clear He Will Abuse DOJ

Wednesday on MS NOW’s “The Briefing,” Sen. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said that during his confirmation hearing, acting Attorney General Todd Blanche suggested he would abuse the Department of Justice to go after President Donald Trump’s enemies.

Host Jen Psaki said, “You were in the hearing pressing him today. What did you think of Todd Blanche’s performance?”

Schiff said, “Well, I think the central question the senators had for him, he didn’t answer very well. And that is who do you represent? Do you represent the American people as the attorney general supposed to, or do you represent Donald Trump? Are you still his criminal defense lawyer? And he has made it very clear he is still the president’s lawyer. He signs this settlement agreement, which a judge just said was basically collusion and a fraud and just a pretense of some kind of a court proceeding to give a patina of respectability to something absolutely devoid of that. He’s made it clear that he will go after the president’s enemies. He’s made it clear that he believes the president has not only the right, but the duty to go after his adversaries and abuse the Justice Department to do it.  So he has basically made it clear he is there to be an instrument of Donald Trump’s will to protect him, use the law as a shield to protect him, and also as a sword to go after his enemies.”

I still think there's a good chance Blanche was behind Pam Bondi's obstruction of justice.  I don't expect that to improve if he's confirmed.
