ICE launches blistering multi-state raids to nab convicted felons after staffing surge

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers executed a massive, multi-state enforcement sweep over a 48-hour period, arresting dozens of undocumented immigrants with extensive criminal records.
Federal authorities reported that the suspects taken into custody across various states held prior convictions for violent offenses, sexual crimes, homicide, and major narcotics distribution.
The consecutive operations follow a major influx of field personnel. ICE officials stated that the sweeps were heavily amplified by 12,000 newly deployed law enforcement officers and agents funded under recent federal legislation known as “One Big Beautiful Bill.”
“Yesterday, ICE arrested murderers, pedophiles, sexual predators, drug traffickers, and other criminal illegal aliens convicted of heinous crimes,” Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in an initial statement. “Thanks to President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, ICE is supercharged with 12,000 new law enforcement officers to remove the worst of the worst from American communities.”
In a subsequent announcement detailing additional arrests from the operation, Bis attributed the presence of the offenders to federal border enforcement strategies.
